9 Pay Per Click Advertising Tips
Pay-Per-Click advertising has become all the rage. It enables businesses to track every penny of their marketing budget which has been impossible to do through traditional marketing. There is a lot of value in advertising this way as long as you go into it with the proper knowledge and mindset.
1. Buyer Desire: Consider your market on this one. If the potential client is looking for comfort write something like "Best Tech Support" or "We are here for you 24/7". If it is a time sensitive item you could write "Fastest Shipping".
2. Sales Cycle: Are you trying to find customers in the beginning or end of their buying cycle? If it is the beginning you could write something like "Free Analysis" and if it is the end: "Buy SEO Services Today".
3. Time: Let your ads run long enough to produce a base line for click-through-rate and conversion rate comparisons. Do not be too alarmed if your CTR or conversion rates are low in the first few weeks as you will have inconclusive data.
4. Test Test Test:Never stop writing different ad copy. Try different headers and body text. Little things such as the way the URL is displayed can even be changed. Example: www.cardinalwebsolutions.com or www.CardinalWebSolutions.com .
5. Stand Out: Don't copy your competitors, be unique! To stand out in a crowded marketplace try to write sayings that appeal to your consumer and get them engaged. Make it about them, not you.
6. Segment Your Ads: Write different ads for different keywords that you are targeting. If you are running an ad for DUI School than you should promote just that, not your defensive driving classes.
8. Appropriate - If your target market is children's clothing, try to make the ad copy fun and playful. The parent will be buying it but they want their child to be happy and have a positive association with the brand.
9. Track and Convert: Make sure you are familiar with your analytics program in order to ensure you gain the maximum amount of conversions per dollar possible. Not keeping track of this is the easiest way to lose your wallet in the PPC game.
Bonus Tip: Landing Page: Does the page your customers are coming to on your site contain all the info they need to feel secure in purchasing from you? Does your page have a call to action prominently displayed? These two tips will help you convert exponentially more traffic.
